Meet Rob Flanigan – Owner of Flushed Away Plumbing

Rob Flanigan is the owner and lead plumber at Flushed Away Plumbing in Hervey Bay. He's a licensed plumber and gas fitter who spent more than 15 years building one of the Southern Highlands' most trusted plumbing businesses before moving his family and his team to the Fraser Coast in October 2026.



If you call Flushed Away, there's a good chance Rob answers the phone himself. There's an even better chance he's the one who turns up.

Rob's Story

Rob built Flushed Away Plumbing in the NSW Southern Highlands, south-west of Sydney, while living in Medway, a small rural village just outside Moss Vale. He started out as a one-man operation with a ute and a set of tools. Over two decades, word of mouth grew it into a full team working across Bowral, Mittagong, Moss Vale, Berrima and Kangaroo Valley.


The Southern Highlands is a demanding place to plumb. Cold winters, rural properties on tank and septic, steep blocks and heritage homes meant Rob's crew did a bit of everything. One day it was a burst pipe in Bowral, the next a new home build in Kangaroo Valley, and the day after that roads, stormwater and dams on a rural subdivision.


In October 2026, Rob made the move to Hervey Bay. It's a fresh start for the family, but the business is the same: same owner, same standards and the same way of doing things.
